The Melbourne Tartan Festival is a joint initiative of the Victorian Scottish Heritage Cultural Foundation (VSHCF) and Scots of Victoria Co-ordinating Group (SVCG). The Melbourne Tartan Festival Planning Committee consists of members from the VSHCF and SVCG as well as members representing participating Victorian Scottish community groups.
The Victorian Scottish Heritage Cultural Foundation is a not for profit organisation established in 2010 to ensure the ongoing support and encouragement of Scottish cultural heritage within and alongside Victoria’s rich, culturally diverse community of today. VSHCF offers support for the promotion of Scottish music, dance, literature and performing arts in all its’ forms.
Scots of Victoria Co-ordinating Group was founded in year 2000 after the coming together of various bodies within the Scottish community, who felt it was desirable to combine resources under one umbrella body who’s task it would be to facilitate and coordinate the dissemination of information, sharing of events and of various resources to be found within the Scottish Victorian community.
