KIRKIN’ O’ THE TARTAN SERVICE

10.45am arrival – service begins at 11.00am
The Scottish community of Victoria commemorates the repeal of the Act of Proscription on 1st July 1782 with the annual Kirkin’ O’ The Tartan service at The Scots’ Church in Collins Street, Melbourne.

The Parade of Clans procession is piped in to the kirk (church) where Clan representatives present their tartans before the communion table.

Wear your clan tartan with pride and join The Scots’ Church congregation at this years’ service.

*Clans are invited to register their participation in the Parade of Clans Procession - two representatives per Clan. Clan representatives will carry their clan tartan during the Tartan Procession and place their tartan before the communion table. Please note: No Clan or association banners please as requested by The Scots’ Church.

OLD TREASURY BUILDING TOUR … a Melbourne Tartan Festival event

Sunday 30th June at 2.00pm

The Old Treasury building is one of the very few gold rush buildings still in use in the city. This tour will showcase the exhibitions, including the beautiful building. See areas of the building inaccessible to the general public, including the Executive Council Chamber. This historic room is where the Governor of Victoria has met for over 160 years to sign legislation into law. Find out more about Melbourne’ fascinating gold rush past!
